Integrative Health & Wellness: Root-Cause Care for Energy, Balance & Vitality

We combine functional medicine testing, personalized plans, and lifestyle support to help you reclaim your health from the inside-out.

A Deeper Look Into Your Health

At Whitehouse Family Medical, integrative health means going beyond symptom relief — we explore why you’re feeling the way you do. Our approach blends the best of conventional medicine with evidence-based functional testing, nutrition, lifestyle optimization and personalized care. Functional testing looks beyond basic labs to identify imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, toxic burden, hormone fluctuations, and more. These tests help us detect patterns that often go undiagnosed in conventional care, including inflammation, stress response, gut dysfunction, and metabolic disruption.

Step 1: Comprehensive Intake

We start with a full health history, lifestyle review, and baseline labs.

Step 2: Functional Testing

Advanced panels uncover hidden imbalances in hormones, gut, or nutrients.

Step 3: Personalized Plan

Your provider crafts a plan tailored to your body’s needs and goals.

Step 4: Ongoing Support

Follow-ups ensure your progress stays on track and results are lasting

Gut Zoomer

The Gut Zoomer provides a deep look at the bacteria, yeast, and other organisms that make up your microbiome. It identifies imbalances, inflammation, and digestive dysfunction that can contribute to bloating, fatigue, skin issues, and immune imbalances — helping you uncover the root cause of gut-related symptoms.  Test mails to your home. 7 day turn around time for results. Includes 45-60 minute virtual consultation to review test findings.

Food Sensitivity Test

Dealing with nasal congestion, skin irritation, digestive discomfort, or unexplained allergic reactions?  The Food Sensitivity Test evaluates immune reactivity to common foods to identify hidden triggers of inflammation, headaches, fatigue, joint pain, and digestive upset. It provides a clear map of foods that may be contributing to chronic symptoms so you can create a more personalized nutrition plan.   Food allergies could be at the root of your symptoms. The Food Allergy Panel provides insight into immediate immune responses by assessing IgE reactivity to common allergens like peanuts, shellfish, dairy, and more. Includes 45-60 minute virtual consultation to review test findings.

Micronutrient Testing

Your body depends on a precise balance of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements to function at its best. Even small deficiencies can impact energy, hormone balance, immune strength, and metabolism. Our comprehensive micronutrient panel evaluates key nutrients such as zinc, selenium, iron, copper, iodine, and more—helping identify hidden imbalances that may contribute to fatigue, hair loss, mood changes, or poor recovery.

Lyme and Co-infections

If you’ve had a tick bite, unexplained flu-like symptoms, joint pain, fatigue or neurologic issues — or if you’ve spent time in tick-endemic areas — our Tickborne 1.0 test may be exactly what you need. This advanced panel provides a thorough look for Lyme disease, tick-borne relapsing fever (TBRF) and key co-infections. Cost can be found below or contact the office about in scheduling an appointment to complete serum testing covered by most insurances.

ApoE

The APOE gene tells your body how to make apolipoprotein E — a protein that helps transport fats and cholesterol in your bloodstream and brain.
There are three common versions (“alleles”) of the gene: ε2, ε3 and ε4.

  • The ε3 version is the most common and considered “neutral.”

  • The ε2 version may offer some protective benefit.

  • The ε4 version is linked with an increased risk of certain conditions, especially when one or two copies are inherited.

Cash cost can be found below and is not covered by insurance.

Viral Infection Panel

Discover hidden viral triggers that could be impacting your long-term health.
This measures IgG and IgM antibodies to multiple viruses—including Epstein-Barr, Herpes, Cytomegalovirus, and Human Herpesvirus—to help identify chronic or past infections that may contribute to fatigue, inflammation, or immune dysfunction.
Results provide a clear picture of your viral exposure history, helping your provider personalize your immune and wellness plan.

What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine looks beyond symptoms to identify and treat the root causes of illness. We combine advanced lab testing, nutrition, and personalized treatment to restore balance and health.

What types of lab testing do you offer?

We offer both traditional in-office lab draws and specialized tests like hormone panels (DUTCH), gut microbiome testing, heavy metal analysis, and food sensitivity panels.

Are functional medicine services covered by insurance?

Some services and labs may be covered, but many advanced functional tests and treatments are self-pay. We’re happy to review coverage and pricing before you start.

How long does a typical functional medicine visit take?

Our initial visit usually lasts 45–60 minutes to allow for a thorough review of your health history and lab results. Many times this is done after you come in for a physical exam, complete traditional bloodwork and then the follow up functional testing is added on if needed for unanswered questions that may remain. In that case the testing can be added on without you present as many are mailed directly to your home for completion. Once these labs return the labs can be reviewed via our virtual telemedicine portal and those usually last 45-60 minutes.

Every test is reviewed by your provider and integrated into a custom wellness plan that may include nutrition therapy, supplements, detox protocols, or hormone support.
